Plan your trip in minutes

Everything you need to know about building your perfect city walk itinerary with CityWalk Plan.

Open CityWalk Plan →
Step by step
1

Choose your destinations

Start by typing the city you want to visit. CityWalk Plan supports 50+ destinations worldwide including Tokyo, Paris, New York, London, Barcelona, Seoul, and more.

Want to visit two cities in one trip? Click + Add destination to add a second city. You can plan up to 2 destinations in a single itinerary — perfect for multi-city trips like Tokyo + Kyoto or Paris + Amsterdam.

Tip: Type the city name and select from the dropdown. The map preview shows exactly where in the city your spots are clustered.
2

Set your trip style

Choose how many days (1–5), who you're travelling with — Solo, Couple, Family, or Friends — and the pace that suits you: Easy (leisurely, fewer spots), Balanced (the sweet spot), or Packed (maximum sightseeing).

Optionally add must-visit spots in the text field. Type a landmark and press Enter — these places get priority in your itinerary no matter what.

Tip: "Balanced" pace works for most trips. If you have kids or elderly travelers, try "Easy" — it leaves breathing room between spots.
3

Curate your picks

Before generating the full itinerary, CityWalk Plan shows you the top-rated places for your destination. Browse them, flip through the map view, and check any spots you definitely want included.

You can skip this step entirely if you want CityWalk Plan to handle all selections automatically.

Tip: Use the map in this step to spot which areas interest you most — then cherry-pick 2–3 anchors per day for a more intentional itinerary.
4

Generate your itinerary

Hit Generate itinerary → and CityWalk Plan builds a day-by-day plan using real place data — coordinates, ratings, opening times, and walking distances. Routes are optimized so you spend time exploring, not backtracking.

Generation takes about 5–10 seconds. Each day gets a logical flow based on geography and your chosen pace.

5

Explore and refine on the map

Your itinerary appears with an interactive map showing all spots. Click any spot on the map or in the list to see its details — photos, Wikipedia link, category, and which day it's on.

Need to make changes? Use the Move to Day button to reassign a spot, drag spots to reorder within a day, or delete spots you don't want. Add extra spots from the catalog using + Add spot.

Tip: On mobile, tap the map toggle button to hide or show the map so you have more room to view your spot list.
6

Export and go

When your itinerary is ready, click Export → in the sidebar. You'll get a beautifully formatted HTML file you can save, share, or print. The export includes all spot details, maps, and links to book flights and hotels.

No account needed — your trip is planned entirely in the browser. You can also close the tab and come back using your browser's history; the itinerary remains in your session.

Tip: Save the exported HTML file to Google Drive or iCloud so you can access it offline during your trip.
7

Share with friends

Want to plan together or send your itinerary to a travel companion? Click 🔗 Share itinerary in the sidebar (or the Share button at the bottom of the screen on mobile) to generate a unique shareable link.

Anyone with the link can open your full interactive itinerary — all spots, the map, and day-by-day schedule — right in their browser, with no account needed. They can also edit it and save their own version.

Tip: Shared links stay active for 90 days. Each time you share after making edits, the link refreshes to your latest version — so your travel companions always see the most up-to-date plan.

Pro tips

A walkable city neighborhood street

Think in neighborhoods

Group nearby spots on the same day to minimize travel time. The map view makes it easy to spot clusters.

A major city landmark

Front-load big attractions

Put major landmarks on Day 1 — you'll have the most energy and the least risk of bad weather late in the trip.

A street café for a spontaneous stop

Leave gaps for spontaneity

Use "Easy" or "Balanced" pace to keep blank time. The best city walk moments aren't on any itinerary.

A famous city crossing

Use must-visit spots wisely

Add only your absolute non-negotiables (2–3 max). Too many locked spots reduce route efficiency.

Tokyo skyline from Omotesando

Multi-city: allocate days carefully

If visiting two cities, budget at least 2 days per city. One day rarely does justice to a major destination.

Jewel Changi Airport interior

Export before you fly

Download your itinerary as HTML and save it offline. Airport Wi-Fi is unreliable and roaming data is expensive.
