What it is
CityWalk Plan is a free, no-sign-up planner that builds day-by-day walking itineraries from hand-curated places in 50 cities, in 9 languages. It launched in May 2026 for travellers who want to see a city on foot without spending an evening stitching a route together.
How it works
Pick a city, the number of days and a pace (Easy, Balanced or Packed). The planner chooses stops from that city's catalog and groups each day by neighborhood, so you are not crossing town and back. You can reorder, remove or add stops, share the plan as a link, and export it as a PDF, plain text, GPX or KML. Each day can be opened in Google Maps or Apple Maps for walking directions.
Where the places come from
Every stop is a real place picked for its city by hand. Names and locations are checked against Wikipedia, Wikidata and OpenStreetMap, and the short descriptions are adapted from Wikipedia. Itineraries are assembled from this catalog; they are not written by an AI model, so the planner cannot invent a place that does not exist.
What it does not do yet
- Lines on the map connect stops directly for orientation. They are not calculated street routes, and the planner does not promise walking times.
- Opening hours, closures and ticket rules are not checked live. Confirm them before you go.
If you find a wrong place or detail, use Report a problem in the planner and we will correct the catalog.
How it is funded
The planner is free and shows no third-party ads. Some pages and plans include partner links for hotels, tours, tickets and travel eSIMs. If you book through one, the partner pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Partner offers are shown separately and do not decide which places go into an itinerary. See Terms and Privacy for details.
Use it inside AI assistants
CityWalk Plan runs a free public MCP server at https://citywalkplan.com/api/mcp, so assistants such as Claude can list cities, plan a walk and look up a place from the same catalog. Setup steps are on the MCP page.
For how it compares with GPSmyCity, VoiceMap, Wanderlog and Google Maps, see the comparison page.
